Art and Crafts

We have started art in class and we wanted to show you some of the things that we have done in the past term.

We have made hats for Egyptian Pharaohs and we had lots of fun. The hats are usually round with some sort of decoration to make the Pharaoh look important and special. The class made very different headdresses. Here are a few of them:

The materials we used included paper, glitter, paint, wool and cardboard. Pharaohs love being noticed and could get angry easily if they were not. Headdresses were meant to show off the faces of the Pharaohs.

Abstract Pictures in ICT

In I.C.T we have been learning how to make abstract shapes and pictures that are made of simple shapes, for example if you were to do a giraffe one part of the giraffe would be a long triangle for the neck and legs, But an abstract shape would not necessarily look like the picture its supposed to be. An abstract picture is a picture that has got simple shapes and you have to move the shapes around so they are not together and that's what makes abstract shapes.

Costumes from Around the World.

Last week in art we looked at some beautiful costumes. The prettiest costumes were the wedding costumes which were from around the world.

Here is a British wedding dress.

• The English costumes were the Bride costumes and the Halloween costumes.
• After that we looked at African and Indian costumes.

These are Egyptian and Albanian costumes.

We also looked at other costumes like Greek and Roman costumes.

Sketching Realistic Eyes

In art we have been learning how to draw realistic noses and eyes. My task was hard because I was drawing two people's eyes. If you look at the picture of the eyes it looks easy, but it is hard.

To do the eyes we need to look at the person's eyes carefully and use a pencil to do shading. But we did complete it and made it look realistic.

Dreams

In art we have been learning about dreams. We went home and found things that reminded us about one of our dreams and we talked about our dreams. In our sketch books we drew a dream and we went in the playground in a group we took photos to make our dream. I took a really good photo and we put it on the computer and put effects to make it better.
