This is it - a new school and a new term has started. I am handing the blog to another new class (or two this time round). So year 6 - look after it and handle it well. It has been in very good hands so far and you will have to work hard to keep up the high standard! Good luck and enjoy!
At long last I have finished editing a short video of our exploits during creative arts week. Here it is in all its glory; see if you can spot yourself!
It is with great sadness that I am leaving Cleveland. Over the last 7 years I have met some amazing people - children and adults, I have learnt huge amounts, I have laughed and cried in equal measure. Class 9 I can not tell you enough how much I have enjoyed working with you. Yes, you sometimes infuriate me but you are all delightful and I am really sorry not to finishing the academic year with you. Keep working hard (start working hard some of you! ;o) ) and I know that you will get to where you want to.
This blog will move onto my new class but keep in touch though the Cleveland forums and let me know have you're getting on. I'll miss you all!

Once again I have been made immensely proud of my class. They have dug deep into their pockets again this year an together, in place of exchanging Christmas presents, we have raised an amazing £112 to spend at www.oxfamunwrapped.co.uk. The children decided to spend this money on the following:
School dinners for 300 children
Emergency Clothes
Fix a well
Health check-ups (x2)
100 bars of soap
Plant 25 trees
5 bags of seeds
Safe water for 12 people
Last year the children in Class 4 raised and impressive £80. They spent it on:
Teaching a teacher
School dinners for 200 children
Build a little bit of a classroom (x2)
Safe water for 25 people
Help provide health check-ups
5 bags of seeds
The year before that my class raised more than £60 and that too was spent on Oxfam Unlimited. Over the last 3 years their (and my) donations have gone to help some of the world's most disadvantaged people. Thank you to both of my Class 4s, Class 9 and all the parents and school adults that have donated with us at Christmas. You have made a difference.

The holiday is becoming a dim memory, the class is settling in and we are well away into our new year. It means it is time for class 4 to hand the blogging baton over to class 9. Year 3 did an amazing job last year and year 5 are going to have to work very hard to top their work.
So here it is class 9. The blog is yours. Work hard, look after it and start thinking of posts!

What a year we have had. When I look back at all the places we have been and all the work we have done, even since May when we started our blog, it makes me feel exhausted! (Or maybe that's because I need a holiday!)
Class 4 have come a very long way since the beginning of the year. Friendships have developed, confidences have grown, handwriting has got neater, answers have got clearer and my hair has got greyer! :o)
Our blog has been a great success this year and the children have worked exceptionally hard to make it so. We all hope that you have enjoyed reading our posts.

I have spent several hours today, re-posting most of the deleted posts from our blog. I am aware there are 2 or 3 that I didn't manage to save so we will need to re-write these. A couple of the posts are also still missing their photos but I can add these once we get back to school.
This has been a lesson for me. Perhaps I was too trusting with the password, or maybe naive to think that it would be safe to allow children access at home. Either way I will need to re-think how our blog will work from now on.
Class 4, I have been hoping all week that the deletion of all your posts was an unfortunate accident. I promise you that I will continue to investigate until I have an answer for you.
Checking our blog this evening, I am devastated to find that most of our posts have been deleted. It can only have been done by someone in our class since our password is required to edit and delete posts. I can only assume that this act was deliberate since to delete all posts except mine would take clicking delete on 21 separate posts, posts which the children have worked on incredibly hard.
I am sad to think that someone in our class could be cruel enough to deliberately destroy the work of others. I know when the work was deleted because I was online at the time and I have the IP address and location of the only visitor to our blog at that time. I will follow this up.
Meanwhile I have tried very hard to save as much of your work as possible, class 4 and I will do my best to restore our blog. Since someone is determined to ruin our work, I have removed the class posting privileges until we solve this unhappy mystery.
This is it class 4; our last half-term together is approaching fast (not too fast though I hope! You have worn me out and I need my holiday!).
I had to say what I brilliant job I think you have done with our blog. I think your other readers would agree. You have come up with lots of great ideas and I think that your posts are getting more and more interesting. I am so glad that I am going to have a reminder of your work and our time in class together for years to come.
Don't forget to keep thinking about those posts and send me an email if you get a good idea in the holidays.
Class 4 have been blogging mad today. Posting was met with enthusiasm and ideas started to flow as we thought about all the things we could include in our posts. Look out for posts on the Tudors (our history topic) and some of our art work too!
